Darwin Initiative is a small grants programme that
aims to promote biodiversity conservation
and sustainable use of resources around the world.
The Initiative is funded and administered by the
UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

University of Leicester is a prominent member of
the academic community with an established reputation
for teaching and research. Almost all the scientific
equipment of the project, which is kept in Kenya
has been donated by the University.

Founded in 1946 by the artist and naturalist Sir Peter Scott (1909 - 1989), WWT
has 9 visitor centres around the UK, where people can get closer to wetland birds
and enjoy spectacular wetland landscapes
